The body of a South Frontenac man was recovered from Inverary Lake on Saturday afternoon, hours after he had fallen through the ice while driving a Kubota ATV.

Sixty-nine-year-old Carl Foster’s body was located by the Ontario Provincial Police under water search and recovery unit, police said in a release.

Members of the OPP Frontenac detachment responded at 11:05 a.m. to a call that a man had broken through the ice on the lake.

Police said two males were travelling together on ATVs when one vehicle broke through the ice. They said the second driver also went into the water while attempting to help the other, but was able to get out safely.

Anyone with information about this incident was asked to contact the Frontenac OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
