Driving to the US procedure

I am an international student. I just obtained the US visa. I want to rent a car to drive through US border so as to have a entry record on my passport. Can I drive through the border, in a rented car? What are the required documents I should bear with me? Where is the nearest border crossing port, Morrisberg near Cornwall?

I show them the documents required by the Appointment letter: enrollment letter; transcripts; passport; banking records; previous visas to the US etc..

no problem at all. prescott port is very easy to pass through and less people comparing with 1000 island port.

I think you need notice your rental company ahead if the car is allowed to drive into States. Because the car insurance won't cover when you drive out of the geographic.
