An estimated 127 employees at the Jean Coutu distribution centre in Hawkesbury will lose their jobs this spring, a company spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Hélène Bisson, vice-president, communications with the Jean Coutu Group drugstore chain, said the company is moving distribution operations to its main centre in Varennes, Que. The company says it will keep 10 full-time employees in Hawkesbury and will hire temporary seasonal employees as needed.
“The layoffs will be done gradually between March and end of springtime,” said Bisson.
