A few hours of freezing rain Wednesday morning. Precipitation associated with an approaching weather system will spread into the regions tonight. It is forecast to begin as snow around midnight, with between 5 and 10 cm possible, then change to ice pellets before morning. It will then change to freezing rain for a few hours on Wednesday morning before changing to rain by noon. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. Utility outages may occur. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
