Iris Street near the Transitway was closed for hours Tuesday morning after an OC Transpo bus struck a pedestrian at around 8 a.m.
Initial reports indicated a southbound No. 95 bus headed towards Algonquin College was attempting to pass through the Iris Street intersection when it struck a woman.
Ottawa police described the woman’s injuries as serious. However, police said they are awaiting an official diagnosis from hospital.
The bus involved has been taped off, however pedestrians continued to walk around the vehicle in an attempt to catch other OC Transpo buses on the other side of the Transitway.
More to come.
