Empties For Paws is holding its inaugural “Empties for Paws Weekend” on Feb. 20-21. A “Flood the Rescues” bottle drive is being held, with people asked to donate their empty beer, wine and liquor bottles/cans at various locations listed on the Empties For Paws website. Close to 50 animal rescues are listed from Ottawa, the Valley, Gatineau and across Ontario. On a promotional poster, the group says, “Empties fill bellies and help pay vet bills. It may be pocket change for some, but it can be serious cash for rescues.”(Canadian Tire money also accepted.)
