Senators owner Eugene Melnyk gave a special shoutout Tuesday night to “Stuntman” Stu Schwartz, as the radio host begins his public battle with leukemia.
Melnyk, who not so long ago was facing his own health scare, appeared in a video tribute to Schwartz, which was played at the Sens game against the Buffalo Sabres at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Schwartz is the team’s PA announcer.
Holding a sign that read #stustrong, Melnyk said, “You may have noticed that tonight we’re missing one of our best fans, and that’s Stuntman Stu. Yesterday, he announced that he had leukemia. … On behalf of the whole Senators organization, myself and you fans, we want to wish you, Stu, the very best in your recovery. StuStrong.”

Last year, Melnyk had a life-saving liver transplant after going public with an appeal to find a donor.
