A 14-year-old boy and his 16-year-old sister were taken to hospital with injuries after an OC Transpo bus crashed into a bus shelter in Orléans on Thursday morning, paramedics say.

The crash happened at a bus shelter next to the southbound lanes of Jeanne D'Arc Boulevard near Youville Drive at about 8:20 a.m., paramedics said in a media release.
The boy and girl were with their mother at the time, paramedics said, standing near the bus shelter, when bus No. 4483 left the road and slammed into the shelter and the boy.
His mother and sister "managed to jump out of harm's way," paramedics said.
Mother 'unhurt but obviouly upset'
The boy was pinned between the bus and a snow bank, paramedics said. He was conscious and alert, and was treated by paramedics while firefighters worked to unpin him.
He was then taken to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario in serious but stable condition.
His sister, meanwhile, suffered minor cuts to her hand and cheek from broken glass, paramedics said. She was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Their mother "was unhurt but obviously upset," paramedics said.
One southbound lane of Jeanne D'Arc Boulevard was closed to traffic, police said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
