Ontario Provincial Police are on the hunt for suspects after two family dogs were shot in Tweed, Ont., roughly 200 kilometres from Ottawa.
Police were called to a home on Henderson Road on Feb. 15 after an owner discovered his yellow labrador-retriever had been shot. The dog was taken to the veterinarian where it had to be euthanized.
Two days later, police received a call from another resident on Henderson Road. The resident told police that she returned home on Jan. 29 to find her three-year-old black lab suffering from what she believed was a gunshot wound to the head.
The owner had let her dog out at 6 a.m. that day and returned home at 7 p.m. to find the injured dog. The dog had to be euthanized because of its injuries.
Anyone with information can call the Napanee OPP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
