Ottawa firefighters were busy trying to contain a working fire in a tightly-packed residential neighbourhood in downtown Ottawa Sunday morning.
The fire started in what appeared to be a single-family home at 382 Booth St. at about 7:30 a.m. when reports of an odour of smoke were reported to emergency services.
Many fire trucks were on hand as crews aggressively tried to stop the fire from spreading.
Residents of nearby homes were also evacuated as a precaution.
Booth Street was expected to remain closed from Gladstone Avenue to Poplar Street for most of the morning.
More to come.
