If you’re planning on going out in the ByWard Market over the next few months, you might want to leave your car at home.
A 290-space parking garage at 70 Clarence St. in the Market will be closed for renovations from Tuesday until early May.
The City of Ottawa said in a news release that the garage will get its first “top-to-bottom refresh” since 1994. The renovations include replacing the basement floor, upgrading the fire alarm system, painting and repairing concrete.
Traffic may be impacted by the closure of lanes and sidewalks on ByWard Market Square, and Clarence and York streets.
A parking garage at 141 Clarence and on-street parking will still be available during the renovations.
