Ontario Provincial Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for two brown leather couches stolen in a break-in near Embrun, about 45 kilometres east of Ottawa, on Mar. 17.

According to police, six long guns were also stolen during the break in as well as grey Dodge Caravan which was driven into Ottawa before being torched.

However, police believe the sofas are the most noticeable items taken during the heist and as a result would be the items that neighbours may have spotted being moved. A snowblower was also taken from the home.

OPP said there was “no wrongdoing by the homeowner in relation to the security of the weapons.”

Anyone who may have seen a person or persons moving large brown couches at around 10:50 a.m. in the Nation municipality — no exact address was provided — on that day is asked to call the Embrun OPP at 613-443-4499, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
