Now in his third season with the Harlem Globetrotters, “El Gato” Melendez visited the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) on Monday, April 4 as part of the Globetrotters’ Smile Patrol program.
A Harlem Globetrotters Smile Patrol visit is designed to brighten the day and lift the spirits of children who are unable to attend a Globetrotters game.
El Gato shares a smile, which is the universal language that transcends all cultural barriers, with the children and youth in attendance, creates a few laughs, takes pictures, signs autographs and displayed his amazing ball-handling skills that Globetrotters’ fans around the world have enjoyed for 90 consecutive years.
