Fire crews were battling what they’d upgraded to a working fire in a home near Baseline Road early Sunday morning.
A neighbour called 9-1-1 reporting flames and smoke pouring from the upper windows of a home on Wilshire Avenue, located in a residential area just east of the popular Lone Star Grill.
A woman and her dog, the sole occupants of the home, were evacuated safely with the help of a neighbour by the time emergency services arrived.
No injuries were reported as firefighters continue to battle the blaze.
There were no reports of road closures.
