A woman’s 38-year-old stepson was charged with first-degree murder a day after her body was discovered by OPP officers.
Gail Doreen White, 56, was found deceased at her residence on Shannonville Road in Roslin at about 2:55 p.m. on Sunday by Ontario Provincial Police officer, who were responding to a call about a death. The home is located about two-and-a-half southwest of Ottawa.
The OPP would not reveal the cause of the death, nor if it was violent, before the post-mortem was conducted. That examination was scheduled for Monday.
Her stepson, John Masson White was arrested without incident at the residence. He was to remain in police custody until his next court appearance in Napanee on Tuesday, OPP said.
It was not clear if the two were living together in the home, or if others were at the house at the time of the death.
