NEWMARKET, Ont. — Charges have been laid in a case that sparked an Amber Alert on Monday.
York Regional Police say a 35-year-old Toronto man is accused of abduction, break and enter and two counts of assault after he allegedly forced his way into the home of his four-year-old daughter and her mother north of Toronto and took the girl without consent.
An Amber Alert was issued about four hours later and was lifted after the vehicle the father and daughter were travelling in rolled over in Pembroke.
The girl was treated in hospital and has been released, while her father is still in hospital with minor injuries
