Firefighter slightly hurt in early morning fire in Old Hull

Gatineau firefighters responded to a call for a fire on the deck of a home located at 8 rue Hélène-Duval in the downtown Old Hull area at about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The fire had engulfed the second-storey deck and threatened the attached home.

Firefighters quickly gained control over the blaze.

One firefighter was reported to have injured one of his hands.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Damage estimates were not available.
