Ottawa residents will find out what the LeBreton Flats of the future could look like Thursday when the National Capital Commission reveals which of two competing development plans received the highest rating from a blue-ribbon evaluation committee.
Many of the key players from the two proponents — RendezVous LeBreton, led by Eugene Melnyk and John Ruddy, and the Devcore Canderel DLS Group, which includes Montreal billionaires André Desmarais and Guy Laliberté — will be on hand when the LeBreton report is presented and voted on by the NCC’s board of directors.
The report, which will include recommended next steps for the massive redevelopment project, will be made public around 2 p.m. The Citizen’s Don Butler, David Reevely and Jon Willing will be there to provide live, blow-by-blow coverage.
