Paramedics and other first responders were kept busy Saturday with a pair of serious crashes.

Crews were called to a crash between a truck and a car near the intersection of Highway 43 and South Gower Drive near Kemptville, where firefighters had to use “Jaws of Life” extrication tools to remove a victim from a car.

One victim was transported to hospital via helicopter.

Police said they had no details on the crash.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries following a rollover on Highway 416 near Fallowfield Road Saturday morning.

Paramedics said the victim was thrown from his vehicle in the crash at about 10 a.m.

He was described in serious condition en route to hospital.
