A Smiths Falls man was arrested Tuesday after threatening to resolve his customer service complaint by driving his car into a local business.

Police said the 49-year-old man, whose identity was not released, complained about service at an unnamed business on Monday.

He was tracked down driving downtown later in the day and was stopped, but he took off, driving through a yard before colliding with a police cruiser.

He was able to continue driving but police discontinued the chase for public safety.

He was arrested Tuesday morning in a residence. Police said it was not his residence.

Joseph Thompson is charged with uttering threats to cause damage, flight from police, fail to stop for police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief, and two counts of breach of an undertaking.

There were no injuries.
