Ottawa police have charged a music teacher at Bell High School with sexual assault and sexual exploitation following allegations of improper physical contact with one student.
Timothy Stanutz, 56, was due to appear in court Friday afternoon.
The allegations are about events that took place while he was at work.
The school is part of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
He is the third Ottawa teacher charged with sexual assault in a little more than a month.
In April, police charged a male teacher at École secondaire catholique Pierre-Savard in Barrhaven, and a female teacher at Mother Teresa High School, also in Barrhaven.
