Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the death of a man in St-Bernardin, near Hawkesbury.
The agency said Hawkesbury OPP were called to Concession Road 8 in Nation Township Friday responding to reports of a man in distress.
When officers with Hawkesbury OPP and the force’s tactical response unit arrived and entered “a structure” on the property, they found the man dead.
The SIU was notified by the OPP and has invoked its mandate. The SIU investigates when police are involved in incidents that result in a serious injury or death.
Police said the investigation is continuing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
