Hog's Back Bridge shutdown causes weekend traffic jam

Traffic in the Mooney’s Bay area was unusually snarled for most of the day Saturday when a glitch with the canal locks prompted the National Capital Commission to shut the Hog’s Back Bridge to permit repair work.

The shutdown began before the lunch hour and traffic problems in the Hog’s Back Road, Colonel By Drive areas were steady.

The NCC said it hoped to have the problem resolved in a few hours but the road remained closed Saturday afternoon.

Hog’s Back Road is closed Saturday due to the repair work being done on the Hog’s Back Road bridge .
