Thanks to the power of social media, and perhaps the beer bounty that was offered, Beyond the Pale Brewing Co. has got its stolen delivery van back.

The popular Hintonberg brewer reported on Facebook at about this morning that the vehicle was stolen from its brewery following a break-in late Wednesday or early Thursday.

In the post, the brewer said the thieves broke into the premises at 5 Hamilton Ave. overnight and stole a number of items, including the brewer’s delivery van, which is heavily clad in Beyond The Pale logos and is easy to identify.

“It is with heavy hearts we report today that some lowlife, scumbag broke into BTP in the wee hours of the morning, and made off with, among other things, our beloved rocket van. Ipads? Money? Beer? Fine. But the van?… we’re clearly dealing with a real intellectual here,” reads the Facebook post, while adding fans to keep their eyes open and offering free beer to anyone who helps get the van back to the brewery.

About midmorning, eagle-eyed citizen David Armstrong spotted the pilfered van at the corner of Daly and Nelson streets and police were summoned.

Beyond the Pale co-founder Rob McIsaac said the company was busy Thursday morning, buying new iPads and laptops in order to ensure that its business and payment systems aren’t affected. He also said, prior to the return of the van, that they were attempting to rent a vehicle to make the necessary deliveries.

There was no word on who would get the bounty.
