City and Ottawa Tourism to hold Tourism Summit

Ottawa – The City of Ottawa and Ottawa Tourism, in partnership with the Economic Club of Canada, will hold a Tourism Summit on May 30, delivering on a key component of the City’s economic development strategy, Partnerships for Innovation. The summit, which will bring together tourism experts, stakeholders, businesses, and the general public to examine Ottawa’s tourism industry beyond 2017, is sponsored by the Ottawa Gatineau Hotel Association and the Shaw Centre.


Date: Monday, May 30

Time: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Location: Shaw Centre, Trillium Ballroom, 55 Colonel By Drive



The summit will be held in two parts:


  • Part 1 is the Tourism Outlook Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Part 2 is a facilitated workshop examining the results of the DestinationNEXT Survey, an initiative of the City of Ottawa and Ottawa Tourism, from 2 to 5 p.m.


Both parts of the summit required registration, which has now closed to the general public.


Media are welcome to attend both parts of the event, but are advised that the Mayor and speakers will only be available for interviews between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
