A 38-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with mischief and indecent acts after complaints that 1980s pornographic magazines, used condoms and plastic cups were left on picnic tables near play structures.
Ottawa police said that residents who live near the Edge Hill Park on Ridgemont Avenue, near Heron Road and Bank Street, complained about “disturbing and odd items” left at the park between December 2015 and May 2016.
East district neighbourhood officers conducted surveillance at different times of the day and night until Wednesday at 1 a.m. when they saw a man leaving items in the park.
Yannick Sabourin, 38, was charged with mischief and indecent acts.
He was released from police custody on a promise to appear in court and to abide by under certain conditions.
