While some of us wanted nothing more than air conditioning or a patio spot on another steamy day in the capital, there were Ottawans with more creative ideas.
Despite the temperature climbing above 30 C on Sunday, historical re-enactors donned the heavy costumes of 19th century soldiers for a display at the Canadian War Museum. Enthusiasts young and old watched a demonstration put on by re-enactors from the 100th Regiment of Foot, an Ottawa group that pays homage to a British army regiment from the Napoleonic War.
Away from the musket fire, others looking to beat the heat found a spot on Prince of Wales Bridge to do some fishing.
Some Ottawans just wanted to be outside, whether it was cycling or inline skating along the Ottawa River.
Ottawans bask in the heat and some musket fire
While some of us wanted nothing more than air conditioning or a patio spot on another steamy day in the capital, there were Ottawans with more creative ideas. Whether is was historical re-enactors firing muskets, urban fishermen casting off the bridge or cyclists and inline skaters, many refused to waste the fine weather.
Temperatures are expected to remain hot through the week, with a high of 29 C on Monday and 25 C on Tuesday.
