A summer afternoon barbecue got too hot to handle in Stittsville on Sunday.
Firefighters got multiple 911 calls reporting that a barbecue had exploded and a fire had broken out between a patio and fence on Burnaby Drive just before 5:30 p.m.
The flames, which were limited to the backyard, were under control within about 15 minutes.
One person was taken to hospital with minor burns to an arm and leg.
