Ottawa – The City of Ottawa, in conjunction with the Drowning Prevention Coalition, will host an event to mark the start of backyard pool season and to remind residents about safety around backyard pools.
Speakers will include Deputy Mayor Mark Taylor, Dr. McNaughton-Filion, Eastern Ontario Supervising Coroner, and Christine Wagg, Area Chair, Ottawa Lifesaving Society. Following the event, Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Isra Levy, will be on hand for interviews, along with the speakers.
Date: Friday, June 10
Time: 10 to 11 a.m.
Location: Residence of Dr. Claudia Courchesne and Dr. Dan Hwang

On-street parking is available
The Drowning Prevention Coalition is made up of representatives from the Boys and Girls Club, Dovercourt Recreation Centre, Ottawa Hospital, Red Cross, CHEO, Lifesaving Society, Ottawa Fire Services, Ottawa Public Health, Ottawa Police Service, Ottawa Paramedic Service and Ottawa Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services.
