小孩入学上英文学校

想请教已在OTTAWA住了3年多, 很快就要拿到公民身份了,如果般到Gatineau(Hull)地区, 小孩可以入学到英文学校吗? 据说, 小孩只可以入学到法文学校,对吗?

为什么不可以呢?
因为听说是,只要父母双方母语都是法语,孩子就一定要上法语学校.如果有一方母语不是法语,就可以上英语学校.

No! Your kids can go to English high school only when either the parent received his/her high school education in English. This law applies to every landed immigrant AND citizen, no exception. The other side of it is that getting educated in French is actually a good thing, your kids will be bilingual in no time. It's always good to learn a new language, whatever it is.

我孩子比较大些(GRADE 8), 我担心法语会影响到孩子升入好一点的大学(孩子刚刚能相NATIVE CANADIAN一样的英语)
有没有这方面的网站或官方信息或有这方面的经验?

不要为孩子的英文担心,既然能讲得象native,那就更不会丢.学好法语,将来的出路就宽多了.加拿大联邦政府里的职位基本上被魁北瓜占着,其他的瓜不行.
