Ottawa – To mark the City of Ottawa’s annual Aboriginal Awareness Day, Councillor Mathieu Fleury, along with Elders and Chiefs of the two Algonquin Anishinabe First Nations located closest to Ottawa, will raise two Algonquin Anishinabe flags and unveil an original commemorative artwork at City Hall on Tuesday morning, June 14.
The flags of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation and the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation will fly at City Hall for the day.
Date: Tuesday, June 14
Time: 9 to 10 a.m.
Location: Marion Dewar Plaza, City Hall, 110 Laurier Ave West
Also, Senator Murray Sinclair will deliver a keynote address at the City of Ottawa’s Aboriginal Awareness Day Forum and Deputy Mayor Bob Monette will proclaim June 21 as Aboriginal Awareness Day in Ottawa.
Time: 11:40 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
