Ottawa police have charged a 15-year-old boy with sexual assault after a woman was touched on an OC Transpo bus during the morning commute.
Last week, a woman reported being touched inappropriately by a teen while she was riding the No. 85 bus near Lincoln Fields Station on May 31 around 7 a.m.
Police believe another incident occurred on the same bus on the morning of June 8. Police have not yet identified the woman involved in that case. In both alleged assaults, the suspect carried a black backpack.
On Monday, the teen, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was seen on the bus, arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault. He has yet to appear in court.
Investigators are concerned that there may have been other women who were touched on buses while he was a passenger.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sexual assault and child abuse unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5944. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS), or toll-free at 1-800-222-8477.
