Ottawa police are probing the account of a man who walked into an emergency room early Wednesday morning with a gunshot wound to the leg and reported he’d been shot in the Fisher Avenue and Baseline Road area.
It’s the 29th shooting in Ottawa in 2016.
At 1:20 a.m., the hospital reported the shooting to police.
Officers arrived to interview the man, whose injuries were not life-threatening, but his account was incomplete, police said. There were no witnesses.
The police’s guns and gangs unit is still looking to confirm that a shooting happened at that location as their investigation continues.
