A 58-year-old man suffered chest and abdominal injuries and a fractured arm Thursday afternoon after being hit by a sport-utility vehicle at a downtown intersection.
He was in serious and deteriorating condition but paramedics stabilized him with treatment including intravenous fluids as he was rushed to the trauma centre at the Civic campus of the Ottawa Hospital.
The collision occurred around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Waverly and O’Connor streets.
