Ottawa – It’s all about Dad this Sunday. If you’re going to spend the day with your Dad, or even someone else’s Dad, then don’t make any plans until you check out some of these fun Father’s Day activities.

Go downtown

Rideau Street and the ByWard Market are open for business. The choice of restaurants for your Father’s Day brunch is world class and you can follow it up with some shopping or visit the Festival Franco-Ontarien at Major’s Hill Park, or the Fringe Festival at various locations. The ByWard Market parking garage is now open, and parking at City Hall is only $2 per day on weekends.

Visit a museum

Enjoy the historic splendor of Cumberland Heritage Village Museum, enjoy a picnic on the shores of the Ottawa River at Pinhey's Point Historic Site, or enjoy a barbecue and an antique car show at Billings Estate National Historic Site.

Go to the beach

Lifeguards will be on duty at Ottawa’s supervised beaches every day beginning Saturday, June 18 until Sunday, August 28, from noon to 7 p.m. Refer to ottawa.ca for beach locations, descriptions, amenities and recreational programs offered.

Take him out to the ball game

The Ottawa Champions play the visiting Cuban National Team this Sunday. There will also be face painting for kids, a rock wall and a bouncy castle at the Father’s Day game.
