Rockers Death From Above 1979 will no longer be performing as part of the 2016 RBC Bluesfest lineup, the festival announced Friday.
“Unfortunately Death From Above 1979 will not be appearing at #RBCBluesfest2016,” reads a statement on the festival’s Facebook page. “We are working on filling the slot vacated by Death From Above 1979 and will announce the replacement shortly.”
The Toronto-based rock duo was originally scheduled to perform on July 14. On Wednesday, however, the group announced it would be cancelling its entire summer tour schedule. The group later confirmed Friday it would not be playing Bluesfest.

“As boring and/or square as is it is to say, the reality is that the costs of touring are simply too high for us to endeavor on such a short run,” reads a statement tweeted by the band.
“We were excited to come play your towns and spend the summer getting weird with you.”
