A patio pilfering probe has resulted in one arrest but Hawkesbury OPP officers still have some seized items, including folding chairs and umbrellas, to return to their rightful owners.

Police have been investigating thefts from porches, balconies and backyards, mostly in the Hawkesbury and L’Orignal area, over the past few weeks.

After an investigation, they executed a search warrant at a residence on McGill Street in Hawkesbury and recovered dining sets, sectionals, loungers, cushions, umbrellas and lawn ornaments.

Julie Piette, 39, of Hawkesbury is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. She was released on a promise to appear in court Wednesday.

Much of the stolen property has been returned but investigators have yet to locate the owners of some patio sets, folding chairs and umbrellas.

Owners of still-missing property and anyone with information are asked to call Const. Stephanie Fortin-Provost or Det.-Const. Steve Hamel at the Hawkesbury O.P.P. Detachment at (613) 632-2729.
