Ottawa - The City of Ottawa Commemorative Naming Committee is conducting public consultations on a naming proposal to:

  • Name the reading room at the Greely Public Library, located at 1448 Meadow Drive, the “Carol Parker Reading Room”.

Carol Parker Reading Room – (Ward 20 – Osgoode)

In recognition of Carol Parker’s extensive community service, the City of Ottawa has been asked to name the reading room at the Greely Public Library, located at 1448 Meadow Drive, the “Carol Parker Reading Room.”

Carol Parker served as a trustee with the Carleton District School Board from 1985 to 1997 and was elected a Councillor in Osgoode Township in 1997. Her many accomplishments included establishing the Greely Public Library in the former Fire Hall, fighting to keep music and arts programs a part of the education system, and establishing the not-for-profit Greely Players Theatre Group.
