Ottawa police are investigating after a paramedic was assaulted on a call to a single-car crash on the Alexandria Bridge late Thursday.
In a release, Ottawa Paramedic Service says their members were called to the crash shortly before 11 p.m. where they found a car had struck a rock face near the Ottawa end of the bridge.
In the vehicle, responders found an injured man in his 20s, who they say assaulted the paramedics during treatment.
Paramedics completed treatment and the man was transported to hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
The assaulted paramedic returned to duty after the call.
