A Canadian Armed Forces reservist has been acquitted of charges related to two alleged sexual assaults that were to have happened at the Connaught Range in Ottawa.

Capt. Joseph Horvath was charged in 2014 by the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service following a third-party complaint to military police about an alleged sexual assault in the summer of 2013.

Horvath was also charged in 2014 with sexually assaulting a different victim in June 2009.

According to court records, Horvath was acquitted of both sexual assault charges.

Horvath was a member of the Canadian Forces for 25 years and was a reserve officer in the cadet instructors’ cadre and employed full-time as the administration officer at the Connaught National Army Cadet Summer Training Centre.
