A woman and her six-year-old son died in a collision with a pickup truck in South Frontenac Township Wednesday evening.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the woman was travelling northbound on Battersea Road in Inverary, South Frontenac Township around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when her van was hit by a pickup truck.
The 37-year-old driver and her six-year-old son were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
Another child travelling in the vehicle needed to be extricated from the wreck and was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was also taken to hocrashspital, however his injuries were not life-threatening.
The identities of the woman and her children have not yet been released by police.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
