Swing is one of the things visitors to the Mackenzie King Estate in Gatineau Park can take part in during the long weekend.
The Estate in Bloom event features a number of activities and demonstrations over three days, including swing dancing, beekeeping, face painting for the kids, vintage bicycle exhibits and lawn games from King’s era, including croquet, horseshoes and the beanbag toss.
Visitors were invited to “share the passion that former prime minister Mackenzie King had for horticulture, landscaping, romantic gardens and architectural ruins.”
The 231-hectare country estate belonged to Canada’s 10th and longest-serving prime minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King (1874-1950).
