Ottawa police are seeking assistance in identifying two suspects in a mugging earlier this week in the Hunt Club area.

The robbery occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when a woman rang the doorbell at a residence on Horsdal Private and said she needed help with her car.

The victim followed the woman to the car where she was jumped by a man who put the victim in a “choke hold.”

The victim fought off the man, who jumped into the vehicle and took off. The pair was last seen on Blohm Drive.

A gold chain was stolen in the robbery. There were no injuries.

The female suspect is described as Caucasian, English-speaking about 20 years old, with a tanned complexion. She was about five feet four inches tall with a slim build, with dark blond hair to her mid-back. At the time of the attack she was wearing a beige top and light blue jeans.

The male suspect was described only as English-speaking, about six feet one inch to six feet two inches tall with a thin build.

The suspects were in a newer model four-door silver or white Honda Civic.

Police said the motive behind the attack was “unclear.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Ottawa police robbery unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
