Motorists are being urged to avoid the area near Woodroffe Avenue and Grenfell Crescent, following a head-on collision there Friday morning that has temporarily blocked the southbound lanes of Woodroffe.
According to Ottawa Fire Services, the two-car collision occurred shortly after 10 a.m.
Emergency responders were called to extricate the driver of one of the cars, which had rolled over. The extrication was done within about 20 minutes of the collision, and the driver was transported to hospital for treatment.
Paramedics had no word on the victim’s condition.
The two occupants of the second vehicle were not injured. A spokesperson for the fire department could not say exactly when Woodroffe would be re-opened for traffic.
