An Orléans home was damaged, and its occupants displaced, after a fire broke out early Saturday.
Shortly before 1 a.m., Ottawa Fire received multiple 911 calls reporting fire at the rear of an attached housing unit at 1501 Briarfield Cres.
When firefighters arrived, the deck and rear exterior of the home were engulfed in flames, and a working fire was declared.
Crews performed “an offensive interior and exterior attack” to bring the fire under control.
There were no reported injuries; the occupants had escaped the house upon discovering the fire.
Victim services is responding to help the occupants, and a fire investigator is attending the scene.
The cause of the fire and total damages to the house are unknown.
