Ottawa firefighters are searching the waters off Constance Bay in the city’s west end after a child was reported to have gone under the water Saturday afternoon.
The fire service received a number of calls shortly before 4 p.m. and rescue teams as well as regular firefighters responded in the area of a beach near Bayview Drive.
Shortly before 5 p.m. a search helicopter landed at the scene.
Firefighters searched the area without results.
An extensive search remains in effect.
