Ottawa – A portion of Hog’s Back Road will remain closed into Monday morning’s commute to vehicular traffic between Prince of Wales Drive and Colonel By Drive to allow for repair work to the bridge along this portion of the road.
Motorists can access Colonel By Drive, via Hog’s Back Road, from Riverside Drive and local access from Prince of Wales Drive is being maintained to local residents and the Rideau Canoe Club. Access for pedestrians and cyclists continues to be maintained.
During this closure, travellers are recommended to cross the river and canal well in advance of Hog’s Back.
As part of the Hospital Link Project, travellers are also reminded that Riverside Drive is currently reduced to one lane in each direction, from 500 metres south of Frobisher Drive to 200 metres north of Hincks Lane.
With all of the construction-related activities underway, residents are encouraged to be flexible with commuting times, stagger work hours or use alternative means for travel. The public is asked to consider options such as transit, walking, cycling or carpooling.
