Two dogs have been put down after they attacked “several people,” including a child, Saturday morning in the city’s east end, police said.
The animals were loose in the Orleans area bordered by 10th Line Road, Tompkins Avenue, Des Epinettes Avenue and Duford Road when the attack happened at around 11:15 a.m, police said.
Patrol officers were called to the scene, located the dogs and put them down.
Paramedics said a female, 25, and a younger boy were involved in the attack. They were unsure if a third person was also involved. The female and boy were taken to hospital with facial, head and arm injuries.
Ottawa police said they could not yet confirm the breed of the dog.
Any victims of the attack are asked to contact Ottawa Police. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
