A rainfall warning for Ottawa North, Kanata and Orléans was issued by Environment Canada just after 6 p.m. Saturday night.
The statement said thunderstorms and heavy rain were moving through the area, with between 40 and 60 millimetres possible before the storms weaken later in the night.
Motorists were warned that heavy rain can cause flash floods and pooling water on roads, and were told to watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
