If you’re part of a local Facebook group, stay on the lookout for false terrorism stories.
Ottawa Police sent out a warning on Monday that someone is going on the Facebook pages for Ottawa-area groups and posting fake stories about a terrorism attack in the city.
One of the fake posts was put on the “Ottawa Babywearing Group” page, and had a fake headline that said three police officers and eight civilians were killed by a suicide bomber in Ottawa.
Another fake post said ISIS had launched an attack in Kanata that killed 92 people and wounded 187.
FYI- These posts have been fabricated. This falsified info may be circulating with various city names. #ottnews pic.twitter.com/j9sVyqHJHZ
